The Scholarship was established in 2007 and is funded by The International College of Auckland.
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to assist eminent Chinese scholars from nominated areas of China to study plant sciences at The University of Auckland and to promote links between China and New Zealand in the field of plant sciences.

General Information
How do students apply?
The Scholarship will be awarded to a PhD candidate in the field of plant science who has paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrolment in the School of Biological Sciences. The basis of selection will be academic results in the relevant pre-requisite degree for PhD entry and potential to contribute to the field of plant science. Applications by way of a form, CV and at least two academic letters of reference close with the Scholarships Office on 1 October.
Decision makers
The Scholarship will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council upon the recommendation of a Selection Committee comprising the Dean of the Faculty of Science (or nominee), the Director of the School of Biological Sciences (or nominee) and one representative of the Donor (appointed by The International College of Auckland).
How and when do students learn of the decision?
Approximately six weeks after closing date by letter.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The Scholarship may be concurrently held with any other award or grant as long as a) the terms of that award or grant permit and b) the University of Auckland Council is informed and approves.
Additional information
The Scholarship's emolument will be paid as a tuition/compulsory fees credit and the balance as a fortnightly stipend.
