The Department of Horticulture provides some of the most practically-based horticultural training programmes in New Zealand. The course is designed to give the student good practical experience and skills required for gaining employment in the industry.
Programme Outline
ICA Certificate in Horticulture (Level4) is designed to provide students with a sound knowledge of the principles of horticulture and a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of the horticulture industry.
The certificate course covers specific horticultural topics and also considers horticultural science in broader contexts, such as botany and ecology. Theoretical learning will be balanced with field trips, to keep students up to date with what’s happening in all sectors of the horticulture industry.
