The Department of Horticulture provides some of the most practically-based horticultural training programmes in New Zealand. Regular field trips are taken as part of the school's programmes.
Programme Outline
ICA Certificate in Horticulture (Level4) is designed to provide students with a sound knowledge of the principles of horticulture and a comprehensive introduction to the horticulture industry.
The certificate courses cover specific horticultural topics and also considers horticultural science in broader contexts, such as botany and ecology. Theoretical learning will be balanced with field trips, to keep students up to date with what’s happening in theworking practical world of the horticulture sector.
