Greetings from the staff and students in the English Department at International College of Auckland (ICA) We challenge English language students to acquire the English as a tool to succeed in regular academic classes offered at ICA or at any other university in New Zealand. Excursions and Field Trips
ICA is only a few hours away from beautiful mountains. lakes, beaches, cultural attractions can all be found locally to Auckland. Students may choose for their recreation from a wide-range of activities. Forms of recreation available off campus include gym workouts, recreation centres, sport clubs, bowling, golf, ice-skating, skiing, soccer, cricket, basketball, swimming,surfing and so much more. Our friendly support staff can advise on any sporting enquiries that student's may have.
Students enjoy many outdoor experiences as they participate in the variety of activities that can be held outside, such as field trips, hikes, nature and conservation experiences, and outdoor games.
During regular class time, students also have opportunities to enjoy visiting museums, business establishments, parks, and other attractions.
Our English language program is geared for your success in English acquisition. Our tutors know what it takes to acquire fluency in a second language, and they have extensive international and teaching experience. The teachers at ICA are sympathetic to students that have come from another country to attend the school in order to learn English, and they are trained to help the student in any way that they can. Like any good teacher, the teachers at ICA go out of their way to help foreign students fit into the culture, learn the language, and enjoy their time here.
Our English language courses cover a wide range of academic English skills to ensure academic success in reading, writing, listening, note-taking and oral presentation, with contextual grammar as a foundation. Also, a weekly IELTS preparation class is available to students as an option.

Morning 9:00 – 1:00 Monday through Friday
Afternoon: 1:00 – 3:00 Wednesday only
Entry requirements
Entry is open to any international student who is keen to learn English. Applicants must be 18 years of age or over and must complete an English language placement test or evidence of their level of English e.g. IELTS score.
